Hello
welcome to my little crafting place!
I love the Spellbinders clubs for October!
I've barely started making my Christmas cards and I'm sure these sets are going to get me motivated. It's good to find something I can use to make a lot of cards quickly and I think this month's gorgeous Glimmer of the Month club with it's starry background plate and 4 really usable sentiments will help no end! It really doesn't need much more added to make a super-stylish card - you can even hot-foil directly onto your card blank then just add one of the sentiments and it will look great! Though of course it's always hard to just stop there!
The Wax Seal of the Month club has something really special this time - the Wax Seal itself is cool with a lovely scripty 'Merry & Bright' message, but this month there's a little tub of Silver Bullion powder and an applicator which I've really enjoyed working with. It goes onto the wax easily and it really shines - I'm just sorry that the shine doesn't show up on the photos so well - you'll just have to take my word for it!
As ever I set aside an hour or two to just experiment with the seal, different colours and different techniques. This time I also hunted out other things I might be able to add - so there's glitter, tiny beads and mini sequins included on the picture.
There's even one I made upside down...😁😁
I used the first seal on the bottom row for this card.
To make it I poured quite a large squarish blob of wax (any colour will do - you can use those weird leftover bits of wax!) onto my silicone mat and immediately covered it with purple glitter. I put a scrap of wax paper over it and gently pressed the glitter over the wax to make sure it got plenty of coverage.
Next I heated and poured white wax on top of the wax 'blob' and this time stamped the 'Merry & Bright' Seal into it, making sure it was adhered to the base layer.
I used the Silver Bullion powder to highlight the letters
