Pizza Night

Hello!

Welcome to my little crafting place!
Here's where I share the things I've been making, and sometimes other bits of waffle!
Today is  Daring Cardmakers day and this week its a foodie challenge!

Friday Night is Pizza Night

This week, please be inspired by a Friday night staple!
Make a card featuring a pizza in some way, be inspired by shapes
associated with them such as circles, triangles or wedges, or perhaps by the colours of Italy, the home of pizza!

Over the years I've made quite a few pizza themed cards - they are great for the males of the family as everyone seems to love pizza! I was a bit stuck for an idea for Hubbt's birthday card, so as I'm not sure I've ever actually made one for him, I thought it should be his turn.

This one is huge - about 20cms diameter and it's a rocker card so you can roll it from side to side

I started by cutting the 'plate' using the biggest circle die I have, that indicated the size I needed to make the pizza.
I folded a second sheet of black card in half and placed the same large circle die as in this photo

Next I glued the 'plate' to one side, matching the edges carefully, so on the reverse it looks ike this

For the actual pizza I found an image I liked, resized to fit on the plate, and printed two identical copies, one to cut out and be the base of the pizza, the other for cutting out extra pepperoni and basil leaf elements to add for dimension
Next I spread some PVA glue around the edges for the=at shiny look to the crust and on some other areas.  I also used Glossy Accents to highlight more of the pepperoni, espeically the dimensional bits.
To finish I made  the little white circle thingamy for the centre from a couple of  punched white card circles with some layers of scrap card to raise it from the surface.  I added the Happy Birthday sentiment on top of this

Then of course, I just HAD to make a pizza delivery box to put it in

I I loved that he actually laughed out loud when he opened it!
