Wheyhey WOYWW Today

Thanks for popping into my blog this sunny day - the sky is blue, the windows are open and all I can hear atm is birdsong.  Bliss!  For some unknown reason I'm feeling quite chipper today, I'll be feeling even better in a bit because as soon as I've uploaded my blog entry and linked to Julia's wonderful Stamping Ground for the weekly "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday" hop, I'll be making myself a great big cappuccino.

Not too untidy today - well by my standards that is. In the middle of my desk is a project I finished yesterday.  I thought I'd finished it the day before - but I flicked through the pages and found a whole page I'd missed out - good job I checked before sending this off to Anice.  I guess if when I made a book I worked through from the front to the back, filling the pages as I went then this wouldn't happen, but I don't think I've ever done it that way.  Even with books with identically sized pages I fill them in random order - is that odd?  Do you do it that way or are you a more ordered front-through-to-back page filler?

Hopping around the WOYWW links each week I see lots and lots of wonderful inky creations, and crafters who have stacks and stacks of inks and stamps - so I thought I'd have a laugh this week and show you the sum total of my inks and stamps collection.  Are you ready?
I bet you're shocked at my lack of stamping supplies, aren't you?
The box on the left has clear stamp sets and unmounted ones - most from the now sadly defunct Self Addressed Kits people, and most, I must admit unused.  Next to that there's a drawer with an assortment of "proper" stamps, some foam stamps and s load of those free ones you get on the front of magazines.  The little black box on the left is full of those little "Snag 'em" type stamps.  I guess if I use a stamp once in three months that's about all - but I do use my inks a lot.  The drawer on the right holds my regular sized ink pads and the tray at the front has the Cat's Eye's and dewdrop type pads that I use most of all.  And that, my inky friends is it!  hehehe

If you've not joined in with the WOYWW hop, then click the link to Julia's BLOG and find out all about it.
I hope you've enjoyed visiting and will come back again soon.  Just before I go and switch the coffee maker on, please take a look at the post directly below this one, as the flower tutorial I mentioned last week is there - I'm really hoping you'll find it useful and if you make any flowers following it, please come back and let me know.

Right that's it for now,
Happy Crafting

Fab flower demo. Thanks for sharing it. I can't remember the last time I used my stamps but I do use the occasional ink pad.

Ha ha Kathy, your stamp collection is a good start! I'll have to come round and sort your stamp phobia out.
Loving the desk with the word book and glad to see you still do the Kathyisms too xxx

Well Kathy - you still have more stamping stuff than me!!!

I read your tute when you posted and absolutely LOVE those shabby flowers and need to look into that paper - where do you get yours from?

RE wordbooks - I work methodically from front to back after cutting them down to required size - decorating front to back - sometime put the sentiment working on the back and decorate randomly til i run out of stuff to put in = thats where i let myself down - I don't prepare the inside stuff enough.

Loving those chalk inks - I've got some versa magic chalk inks and only have a few but love all of your.

Kathy - I never thought to consider you deprived. I feel it might become a mission to get you in the stamping habit!! AS for your method with books - if I take the thing apart I can easily work on random apges, but if it's already bound, I feel duty bound to work front to back, and no doubt it is a creativity stifler!
Great post!

Well yes a little surprised at the lack of stamps but still, you seem to manage without ;) The flowers are gorgeous Kathy. Hope you've had your cappuccino now.

Knowing your stamping aversion I'm surprised to see even that many, Kathy! Mind you, you did say many are unused! I've never made a mini book so I can't answer your question on that but random sounds good to me!

Kathy - I don't have many more ink pads, but I do have a few more stamps, still very modest compared to some. It wouldn't do if everyone crafted in the same way, I find your cards and books very inspirational, so just keep on crafting in Kathy style.

Love the word book on your desk and I can't stay long as I'm off to make a flower...Brilliant tutorial, Thank you for sharing!!xxx

Your desk looks well-organised. I think you have more Stash than you realise when I look at all those jars etc around your workspace!
I tend to fill all the pages in a minibook before sticking anything down, so that I can move things around until I'm happy. I guess you'd call that a random method?

Love your shelves with everything piled up, and your 'book' looks fabulous, so much going on, I'll think I'll stay and play!

Wish I had your desk, Kathy - looks really interesting.

You've got more stamps and inks than me - I only have half a dozen or so cats eyes and about 20 stamps which I never use!

A lot of us have too many stamps so maybe you have the right number ...your inks are plenty to cover all a persons needs and they are stored neatly and on hand ...perfect.
Love that flower ...had a quick read if the 'How to...' ...easy to follow so I might have a go ...love the paper you use.

If I'm working in an altered book, I skip around. If I'm making a book, I try to keep each page in order, so I don't reverse them.

You have a ton more stamps than I have. Had to laugh because my stamp box is a lot emptier than yours. And I don't often invest in stamp ink pads, preferring reinkers, instead.

Have a happy rest of WOYWW.

I guess it depends on what I am working on - but most of the time I work with my favorite parts first then fill in from there.

You certainly do have plenty of ink and I know stamps aren't really your thing so I would have been surprised to see more - neatly organised though!

Angela Toucan said...

You've got ooodles more inks than I've got. But probably less stamps.
