Wrist Purse

Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

Today I'm sharing this card using Spellbinders Glimmer of the Month and Wax Seal of the Month  clubs for November. The pretty chain design reminded me of some of those posh designer bags, so I made this little wristlet purse card - the kind you might keep your phone in because they've all got too darned big for our pockets!

And yes, that is me having another little rant!

I used gold foil on the white 'flap' section and the lovely Blush foil that comes with this month's club kit on (111) Sicily' card from the Colourwheel collection for the larger section.

For the 'clasp' I used one of the seals I made with the November Wax Seal of the Month
along with the Coral mix Must Have Wax Beads that you get this time.
I used white wax (with glitter as explained in my last post) for the upper layer and a couple of each colour from the Coral mix, plus a gold bead  for the lower marbled layer
To finish this seal I coloured the bow with  an Edding Gold Glass Pen

The sentiment is also from the Glimmer set, and the little champagne flute charm is from the November Small Die of the Month club
I attached the chain with a staple
This card could easily be made into a pocket card, for enclossing a voucher or gift card

A Most Eggs-cellent Day (with video

 Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

November's Die of the Month from Spellbinders is all about Doing Brunch and features some very cute  characters! Although there are a few ready made sentimet dies, this set is definitely ripe for some imaginative puns of your own and I couldn't resist making one for a Dancing Fried Eggs card!

I used just the cute fried egg from the November Small Die of the Month club die set and added a little spiral wire spring behind each one before adding the my card. This simple mechanism means that if you flick one with your finger it will 'dance' merrilly!
My "Hoping your day is most eggs-cellent" message adds a pun to the fun!  It was created on my pc and just printed out in the size I needed and added to the card

 Materials

 Other

White linen card blank
White, blue, black and yellow card for die cutting
Small springs made with very thin wire

Raising a Glass

Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

Today's Spellbinders clubs project uses the lovely new November Wax Seal of the Month. I gelved into my ribbon and lace stash to find something to help show this one off!

Here's some of the seals I've made this time

The seal itself is created with a marbling of blue and teal wax beads, and to make the glass sparkle when it catches the light I filled the upper section with fine glitter then poured the wax into it while holding the seal face up (because the glitter would fall out if I didn't, obviously 😁 ).
As the glitter odesn't show up on the still photos I had a go at videoing them.  The video is as bad as usual, but it does help show the glitter (and one with tiny silver beads in instead) better

You have to watch what you're doing and be careful not to pour too much wax when you do this as it will run off and end up on your fingers - which hurts!

Essentially this is a 'pour and scrape' seal but with the added trick of pouring the wax into the mould while it's face up, pour a little wax over then turning it over quickly to 'swoosh' across your silicone mat to remove the main excess. Next use warmed scraper tools to remove the remaining unwanted wax

You need to have the different coloured wax beads for the main part of the seal already melted in the spoon  - but don't mix them, just let the different colours mingle during the pour, then press the seal with the glittered wax glass shape into it as normal

I found this lovely white lacy ribbon and some satin ribbon in my stash to display the seal on. I added a loop of gold twine, under the seal and made a tassel with more of the twine to add some extra interest.
I hot-foiled one of the sentiments from November's Glimmer of the Month club on matching cardstock to complete the card

 Materials

from Spellbinders;

includes Silver Bullion powder

sentiment with gold foil

 Other
White Wax beads
Fine glitter
Mix of blue and teal wax beads
Teal card blank + spare
4cm wide white lacy ribbon
1cm wide satin ribbon

Let's do Brunch

 Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

November's Die of the Month from Spellbinders is all about Doing Brunch and features some very cute  characters! Although there are a few ready made sentimet dies, this set is definitely ripe for some imaginative puns of your own! For this first one though, I used the 'Let's do Brunch' sentiment from the die set along with the various ingredients you need to a good brunch!

I added a fancy plate to put my brunch on, then decided to ech the shape by making the card base into a 'rocker' - nudge it and the card rocks from side to side.
All the card used here, apart from the white card base is from the

The circle and scalloped circle dies I used for the plate are from sets I've had for so long I can't remember where they came from - I think either Spellbinders or TonicI think this would make a cute little invitation card, maybe for taking your Bestie for a Birthday Brunch

 Materials

 Other

Circle and scalloped circle dies for card blank and 'brunch plate'
White card
Gold card for matting
Gold twine
Coloured gems

Autumn Glow

 Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

The Spellbinders clubs for September have been released so it's time to share what I've been making over the last few weeks.

This month there's an Autumnal theme to the collections, with lovely leaves and colours plus some Hallowe'en action thrown in for good measure.

I'm going to start with a card in Autumnal shades using the leaves, flowers and sprigs from the Small Die of the Month club

I've used a corrugated card panel for the background.  I've mentioned before that I save the corrugated card tray our Sunday croissants come in as they are perfect for using on craft projects - you just need to dampen the top plain brown paper layer with water and it comes off easily to leave the tiny ridges.

I cut the foliage and flower shapes from the die set from various colours, and added extra shading to some with inks, then arranged them on the card.

To finish I added a sentiment from a fabulous new BetterPress set.  I don't have a BetterPress machine yet, but they hot-foil beautifully so I just had to have this one!

Materials

from Spellbinders;

BetterPress Plate;

Hot-foiled with gold foil

 Some card scraps from

 Other

White cardstock
Panel of finely corrugated card
Scraps of coloured card for die cutting
Inks for adding extra shading

Three Fishy Tails

  Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

Today I've another project using the August Wax Seal of the Month and  Glimmer of the Month clubs from Spellbinders

For the bubbly background I printed off a piece of digital paper then hot-foiled it horizontally with the lovely Speckled Prism foil that is part pf the club kit.

I addded a shiny irridescent ribbon along the lower edge and added one of the Glimmer kit sentiments cut out with it's own wavy die

The fish tail seal is adorable and you can see some of the seals I've made with it on the photo above. For this card though I made a few seals in different colours then cut out the fish sections.  The wax is easy to cut with scissors - I've bought some small ones with sharp points to save for this kind of job
As part of this month's club kit you get a packet of sticky circles that are especially for use with wax seals. To attach my fishy tails I cut up and folded a couple of them to the right shapes to fit the tails then adhered in place below the sentiment

Materials

from Spellbinders;

 Other

White cardstock
Digital paper
Irricescent ribbon

One Fishy Tail

 Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

Today I'm sharing the first of my projects using the August Wax Seal of the Month from Spellbinders - it is soooo cute!

I've also used the beautiful Glimmer of the Month set - the background plate is fab, all shiny bubbles, perfect for undersea effects. This time I chose an irridescent turquoise foil aswell as turquoise card and I love the way it changes colour as the light catches it.

The fish tail seal is adorable and I had some fun playing with it, using different colours of wax, different techniques of making them and different finishing and highlighting methods

The photo below shows a bit of my desk after my first practise session.  It's not a beautiful sight but a full desk view would really shock you 😱

I used the top centre seal for this card, I added some gold pen to its tail and dotted different colours on the 'bubbles' too

I decided not to use a sentiment at this point, but may add one later.  To finish the card I used 3 sea-shades of waxed twine together and tied knots randomly along until I had the right total length.
