Gingerbread Gift Bag

Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

It's Spellbinders Club time again, and we're still having fun with 'Christmas in July' crafting. This time I've made a gift bag, and used the Gingerbread man Deluxe Caboodle club gift to make a tag to decorate it

The actual gift bag is made from a sheet of A4 80gsm card printed with one of the designs from my ever-increasing collection of digital downloads. The bag is about 15cms high, 10cms across and about 4cms deep, so a good size for a smallgift, like a bag of nice chocolates or a set of mini toiletries etc

For the tag I cut the middlesized scalloped circle from Scallop Journal Cards and trimmed to leave 5 scallops and a bit of extra card to stick to the back of a simple rectangle. At the lower edge added a cut-down piece from one of the borders in the  Stitch & Dots Scallop Borders set. I used ribbon to conceal the joins

The gingerbread man is made the same way as on an earlier post, and I added candy canes from the July Small Die of the Monthand the little hat from last month's Walrus set (I punched a circle to use for the bobble)) and added a spring 'wobbler' between him and the tag base

Wax Seal Centrepiece

 Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

It's Spellbinders Club time again, and as it's July it must be Christmas!

The July Wax Seal of the Monthis a real beauty, and I've enjoyed using it so much! I had a bit of fun turning it into a motif for a fairisle jumper and this time I've used it as the centrepiece of a Christmas card and combined it with elements from one of the brand new Christmas releases from Spellbinders

This seal has the same aqua and white colourway as the one I s I used on the jumper, but this time I didn't cut out the square but left it as it was - more like a traditional wax seal.. As before it's made using the 'pour and scrape' method, heating the stamp a little, pouring the white wax and scraping away the excess with a heated spatula, then pouring the aqua wax and placing the stamp (with the white pattern still in it) into it.
This time I made the white a little brighter by adding white glass pen ink to it
I also made a couple of extras of parts of the seal's pattern, the smaller oneis all white, the other was another of the aqua and white ones, each were trimmed to leave just part of the design
The sentiment is from a new BetterPress set, but I hot-foiled it on the same teal card with gold foil

Penguin Mini Gift Bag

Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

It's Spellbinders Club time again, and as it's July it must be Christmas. Obviously!

In July's Small Die of the Month club set you'll get dies to make 3 super-cute character 'mugs'.  A reindeer, a penguin and the Father Christmas one I shared on my firt Clubs post, plus the froth for the top of the mug and the handle.  You'll also find a couple of cute extras like the scarf, snowflake and a teeny heart.

In an earlier post I shared a simple 'wrapper' for a sachet of hot chocolate using the reindeer mug dies. This time I've used the adorable little penguin and made a sachet sized gfit bag.

I think these are perfect for sending 'warm wishes' to send as a little "Feel Better Soon" wish to someone feeling under the weather, or as a small Christmas gift, or even to hang on the tree when Christmas comes along

To make it I used a piece of thin card, printed with a digital design. I like using digis because I can crop, or just resize them to be perfect for my project.  You could also use a ready made patterned paper, or just make it in coloured card.

This bag is really simple and easy to adapt for whatever you want to put in it.  I've made a couple of very rough plans to show how it works.  You just need to adjust the measurements to make sure your item will fit inside.

The two 6cm sections are the front and back, so measure across your gift and adjust acordingly

The three 1cm sections relate to how 'thick' the gift is, so change those if necessary

The 2.5 section is where you add the glue to form the bag

The 1.5cm is the piece that is glued and tucked in at the bottom.

Dashed lines are fold lines

Red wedges should be cut off before sticking anything to make the overlaps neater

Punch holes and add ribbon to close thee bag

The picture below shows the main dimensions  without the fold lines etc

These die sets are just fab, they go together really easily and are so cute

For the penguin you just need to cut the main body and the wings in black and the face and tummy in white, then add the extra bits you want.  The dies already have holes so the black shows through for the eyes, and the die cuts you make will have the marks on them for the features and to indicate where to add other pieces

I made a small error and forgot to add the handle to this one, oops!

I made a tag by printing the 'A Warm Wish for You' on card via the pc and bakcing in silver glitter card to make a tag and sealed the bag with some blue ribbon

Materials

from Spellbinders;

Other
Snowflake digi printed onto thin white card
Blue Ribbon
hot chocolate sachet
pc generated sentiment for tag

A Hug in a Mug

Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

I couldn't help being inspired by the frothy mug theme of this collection - possibly because I love hot chocolate (and I love my Velvetiser that makes it so scrummy!)

I thought these dies were perfect for sending 'warm wishes'  - so have made a couple of wrappers for prettying up a simple sachet of hot chocolate to send as a little Christmas gift, to hang on the tree or just as a Feel Better Soon wish to someone who's feeling a bit under par

This one is a simple band of red card wrapped and fixed around the sachet and topped with the adorable reindeer mug.  I just added a red ribbon on the handle and printed the 'a hug in a mug' on the pc to make a tag

So, as you can see, this collection is great fun and offers plenty of opportunity to use for different projects.

Gold Box using Glimmer and Wax seal

Hello!

Welcome to my little crafting place!

This month the Spellbinders club kits will help you on the way with your Christmas crafting!  I'm concentrating on the Wax Seal of the Month today, but the Glimmer of the Month club will also feature - as I can't stop using it!

First, here's a quick photo of the seals I've made so far - not all perfect as you can see!  In the photo you'll also see the wax bead mix which is part of the club kit, and the seal itself - albeit upside down (oops!)

I recently 'upgraded' my melting spoons to these non-stick ones and they are a game changer! If you just let unused wax cool in them for a while, you can just lever the 'blob' out - like the green, white and gold blobs beside the spoon. So much easier than having to clean out the metal ones, and the wax blobs are easy to keep ready for next time

So, I thought I'd make a box to feature this seal on.  This box is made with a (very) old Spellbinders die set, but there are newer ones still available which would be perfect.  I just haven't got round to grabbing the die sets yet!  Plus these dies just don't go out of fashion, do they>

I'd already made some seals so I chose the red and gold one and made my box to match. I cut more ot the gold card for the decorative panels and foiled them with red foil and the Glimmer of the Month plate.

I made a tassel from gold thread, added a length of red ribbon across the top of the box, then the wax seal and tassel and ribbon bow at the top.

Now I just need to buy someone a gift that will fit inside!

Halloween Treat Bag and Tag - Spellblogger for Spellbinders

Hello there!
I'm back with another Spellblogging post for Spellbinders

The Skull n' Crossbones die set was one of those I added to my basket in the recent BOGOF (Buy One, get One Free) offer in the
Spellbinders store recently - what a great way to acquire a whole raft of fab dies!

It'll be great for pirate-themed cards and projects, but as it's October, it was only right to try something with a Halloween theme.  I'd had an idea for a little treat bag and thought I'd put the two things together for this little project

 Info
Card in Orange, Purple, Black and White
Cord and ribbon to fasten closed
Renaissance Jubilee Label 56  Nestabilities
Skull n' Crossbones Holiday 2017 Die D Lites
Cellophane or tissue to wrap the threats in!

I used the largest of the Renaissance Jubilee Label 56 dies for the bag, it's a simple crease, fold and punch some holes for twine or ribbon, thing, then wrap the goodies in a cellophane bag or piece of tissue and pop them inside.
Here's where to make the folds

The tag is made in two pieces.
are cut in white and adhered  to the black tag, then the word BEWARE which is also part of the die set was cut in black then adhered first to a piece of orange card and then to a strip of purple to match the ribbon and tissue paper

Here are the  Spellbinders die sets I've used this time, with links so you can find them in the store
