Scalloping Along

This week it's Keryn setting the dare over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog - and she's chosen something right smack in the middle of the comfort zone:

I'm just loving all the new scallop punches that are out at the moment, circles, ovals, squares, edges etc, etc and then there's the corner rounder and slit punches that can be used to scallop edges as well. Use your imagination, your scallop punches, your corner rounders, your cricuts and cuttlebugs to create any card to fit any style as long as it shows scallops. Please leave us a comment on this post to point us in the direction of your scallop cards.

Lovely!
Double lovely because I had an email at the beginning of the week asking me to make a New Baby card and I knew I could tie these two together - isn't it great when that happens? I made something quite similar to this as one of my Kit Designer projects for Bubbly Funk a couple of months back. I've changed the background scalloped shape to squares instead of the original circles, and I've used a different pram this time. I made the templates for the two scalloped squares and the little pram using PSP.
I've been practising using the preset shapes to make the pictures, then using the brush and fill tools to to the rest of the job.
I think I might even be getting the hang of doing this sort of thing at last - I always know I'm getting to grips with anything techie when I don't have to call Hubby for help as often!
I embossed the upper pale blue section of the pram with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.
Papers are Sassafras Lass - I've been hoarding the leftovers from that Bubbly Funk kit I mentioned earlier. This is my favourite paper from that set, so if I only use a little bit at a time, I can make it last a bit longer!
Chipboard circle from BF, silver heart brads, buttons and ribbon are all from my stash.

There are loads of scalloping good ideas on the DCM blog, so do go and have a look at what the girls have come up with this week. We'd love to see you joining in with the dares and sharing your ideas and your cards, so if you make a card with scallops this week, please leave a message on the blog telling us where we can see your creations.

It's Sneak Peek time again and who on earth could this be eh?
The October Bubbly Funk Kit is available for pre-order from the shop: If you like chipboard this kit is stuffed full of the sort of things that will make you ooohh and ahhh when you open it. There's more than 60 pieces of chipboard in this kit, plus a chipboard book to decorate, felt, ribbons, buttons, crackle paint, Stickles - and it all arrives along with a paint can all ready for you to decorate. Last but not least, subscribers to the kits have their own e-mag, with info and ideas not just about the kits but all sorts of other things too.
Go on, you know you want too.........

Love the card and the scallops! I tried making some on the Robo and they ended up so big I could only use them on a scrapbook page! LOL

This is such a beautiful card Kathy, in fact I think I like it better than the original one that you made…..not there’s anything wrong with the first one of course!

The little scallops along the side of the pram are so cute and I love all the detail you’ve added to the pram with the embossing, cut out hearts and the brads on the wheels.
