Whimsical Shadow Box 2

  Hello,

welcome to my little crafting place

I couldn't resist making a second shadow box collage picture using the Spellbinders' wonderful Whimsical Village collection designed by Vicky Papaioannou

Last time I used pastel colours, but this time it's all much darker - with maybe a twilight kind of vibe

I chose 3 shades of deep pink and purple for the houses and flowers, plus a deep midnight blue for the background, all from the Full 48 ColorWheel Cardstock Pack

Once I'd made some houses up, I embossed the background card and highlighted the swirls with a silver Faber Castel Gelato crayon and planned my layout.  Once I'd decided on that I cut the embossed piece to the right size and created my shadow-box accordingly. I use my phone to take a photo of the layout because I'll never get it right otherwise!

Next I made the frame and adhered the background inside before starting to add the other elements, some are raised on scraps of thick cardboard, some have little matchbox cover type folded card behind them to give lots of dimension

The last touches were to add some stamped words from the lovely little stamp set plus a few 'bushes' made using one of the flower dies, and a little spotty dog!

Love the fact the flowers are bigger than the houses! Cute little scene and the rich colours suit it perfect Kathy, great project!
