Tassel Flower Picture

Hello,

welcome to my little crafting place

I've more lovely new goodies from Spellbinders to share with you.  This time its new flowery dies from Susan Tierney-Cockburn's Serenity Garden collection.

You've probably realised that I am really enjoying making shadow box pictures just now, and these beautiful dies were a great opportunity to make another 3d project!
I made up the flowers with the help of Susan's wonderful videos - always worth checking out for her tips on how to make all the different flowers!
I used Susan's Garden Specialty Cardstock, then inked the die cuts in my chosen shades
I made the layout, leaving room for the words, then created the box frame to fit, I prefer to do it that way rather than fit the 'image' to an already made frame.
I wasn't familiar with Tassel Flowers so did a bit of research:
"Tassel flower commonly refers to Emilia sonchifolia var. javanica ('Irish Poet'), a delicate, half-hardy annual with vibrant orange flowers popular in UK gardens, often blooming from summer through autumn. These 30-40cm tall plants attract pollinators, enjoy full sun, and make excellent, long-lasting cut flowers."

I found that in the language of flowers the tasselflower symbolises beauty,        resilience and enduring love. words which I thought would be perfect to complete the picture
I also decided this picture wold look better with a darker frame so used a square die to cut an aperture in a piece of blue card then trimmed to be just a bit bigger than the original box frame to add an extra frame.

 I used

 Poetic Foliage  S3-558
  Tassel Flower and Ladybugs
S4-1482

 Other
