Vroom Vroom

It's Dawn setting the challenge for The Daring Cardmakers this week, and  she's chosen the theme of
A NEED FOR SPEED

The new season of F1 motor racing is due to start in the next couple of weeks and I know that my husband will be glued to the television.
I would like to see some sort of vehicle on your card.
Something that gets you from A to B with a bit of speed.  This could be a car, motorbike, bus, bicycle.  Anything with wheels or an engine.

Well, it was my hubby's birthday a couple of weeks ago, and like Dawn's OH. mine is also a motor racing nut and our weekends will soon revolve around the action taking place on track, this challenge appeared on our calendar in very timely fashion!
I found a vintage GP car image and made it into a template to cut on my Silhouette Cameo.  It was fiddly and took ages, but I think it worked out okay i the end

Tools and Materials
Large white card blanl
Bazzill card in various colours for cutting image
Red, White and Black Bazzill to make raised "picture frame" and mounting
Inks to create background
Image, frame, mount, lettering cut on SC
Die cut backing piece for sentiment (Creative Dies)

There's a lot of dimension to this card, not only because the car has several layers, but also because I wanted it to be more like a picture, so the wite inner mount and upper red frame layer are adhered with dimensional glue.

I usually faff around trying to come up with an idea for Hubby's card, so big thanks to Dawn for giving me the focus to get this done!

There are some fantastic "speedy" ideas over on the DCM BLOG - ranging from shopping trolleys to submarines via bikes and cars - so please head over and check them out!

Thanks for visiting today. I hope you'll leave a message :)
