Summer Streamers

I completely forgot to blog this earlier in the week, but better late than never.

There's a new sketch for July on The Sketch File Blog
for my first project using the sketch I turned it upside down and made this card
For all that white space, there's quite a lot going on here! I started by using some stencils and inks directly onto the base card.  Over that I adhered a piece of wide sheer ribbon - I couldn't resist doing this because that particular ribbon has tiny flecks of silver glitter in it and it just reminded me of how sunlight glitters on the sea.Next some ric-rac pieces on top of the glittery ribbon.

I stencilled a yellow burlap pattern onto another piece of card, then rubbed some orange and red tones in the centre just using a wet-wipe, and die cut a pinked circle from it.
The little yachts are just hand-cut from some scrap pieces of various Funky Hand papers left over from other projects - it they didn't quite match, I just added a bit of ink to help them along ;)
Once it was all assembled, I drew a black line, and hand-cut some teeny-tiny triangles to make the bunting
This is the sketch:

I think it would work quite well for a scrap page, using a big photo and the adding the bits and bobs over the top - I might have a look and see if any of our photos would work and give it a try.

All for now, thanks for visiting
