Celebrate the Sun

Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

Today I'm sharing my card for the Daring Cardmakers challenge and I've made another creation with a wobbling element this week

Celebrate the Sun

We all like to see the sun, so whether its the summer solstice
in the Northern Hemisphere or the winter solstice where you are,
make sure the sun features on your projects this week
Create anything you like - cards, tags, postcards, 3D projects
this week - and don't forget to share them with us!

I used ink and water to create the blue background.  Fot the sun I used yellow card, adding deeper shades of yellow, orange and a little red to make it more fiery! there's another die layer between the face and the rest of the sun - I used a tonic fluted circle for this and inked it a bit darker

I thought that as the finished sun is quite big (about 6cms diameter) I should used some slightly thicker wire to make the spring and slightly bigger wire circles to connect it to the base and the sun.

. Here you can see the wire spring that forms the wobbler

I inked a piece of white card with yellow, orange and red stripes, then blended them together before die cutting the word.  I also cut a further 3 layers from blue card before adhering them all together and gluein in place.
The clouds were die cut from thin white card and lightly inked on the lower edges with a very soft blue shade.
The largest cloud is mounted on a tiny white pop up mechanism, the others raised slightly on pieces of thick card
The flowers were left over from another project and made the perfect finishing touch

I used:

from Spellbinders

The sun is from a Very old Sun die set!  (currently unavailable)

'Hugs' is also from an old set (currently unavailable)
Yellow card from Colourwheel collection

Tiny flowers from my leftovers box
Inks for background and adding to the sun and the sentiment
Homemade wire wobbler
