Anniversary

Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

Today I'm sharing my card for the new Daring Cardmakers challenge:

June's Monthly Sentimental:

Anniversary

On the first Friday of each month we concentrate on a specific sentiment.  as usual, we'll create, and share our ideas and we'd love you to join us keep the inspiration going

Create anything you like cards, tags, postcards or 3D project, and don't forget ot share them with us

Our wedding anniversary is coming up in a few weeks time so I thought I'd make a card for hubby.  I'm nopt sure if this is the one I will give him though  - there are some things I like, and some things I'm not so pleased with. I've time to come up with another idea though!

I love the navy, soft blue and gold colour combo
All the sentiment phrases I've used to make my own little messages are from the  March Glimmer of the Month.  I used gold foil on the lighter blue card then chopped them up to make the messages

I used:

from Spellbinders
2 shades blue card from Colourwheel collection
Indigo and Celestial

All messages created using sentiments from March Glimmer of the Month
Gold Glimmer foil

Heart dies
LOVE die
(I don't have the labels from either set, sorry)
White card base
Matte Gold card

Anchors Aweigh

Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

It's Spellbinders Club time again!

for this card I've used June's Wax Seal of the Month and Glimmer of the Month sets

I've been wanting to get my hands on an anchor seal for a while, so I was really happy when this one arrived! Plus the 'ink' wax that comes in this set is really, really beautiful.

After playing around with the seal stamp and making a batch of seals I decided to keep it simple and made this card, which I think has a masculine kind of feel

Here's the first batch of seals I made using this one. I made most of these using the pour and scrape method and most worked really well.  I did have a couple of mishaps but that's the way it goes.  The weird mishapen seal was a 'cobbled together' one - the anchor section came out well in my initial pour and scrape step, but the letters went very wrong.  I thought I could add just the anchor to a plain blob of wax but I was a bit 'fingers and thumbs' and it went a bit wrong.  I liked the colours though so thought I'd share it anyway!

I love the fishing net plate that along with a couple of sentiment strips and some pretty opal foil makes up the Glimmer of the Month kit. Perfect for lovers of the seaside and cards for fishing enthusiasts!  Oh and maybe it could be used to hint at net bags - those used for oranges maybe!

Anyway, I wanted a Navy theme so used white foil on Cosmic Sky cardstock from the colourwheel collection for the background.

I tied a few strands of white twine down the card just in from the edge, then made the horizontal panel with strips of

smooth white card, made the bunting with handcut triangles of the blue and red card on a length of red twine, then adhered the seal in place.

I might add the 'Happy Birthday' foil sentiment to this one before I send it.

Cosmic Sky and Cranberry

He is the Walrus, goo-goo g'joob!

  Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

It's Spellbinders Club time again!

First up I've this card using the June's Small Die of the Month and Glimmer of the Month sets

The walrus is so cute - well as far as a walrus can be called 'cute'!

I used a fishy digital paper for the background, which I foiled with the fab fishing net Glimmer plate using some blue foil.  I then adhered the background to a turquoise card base to match the fishy colours.

The kit actually comes with a beautiful Opal foil this time, which I'll use on a later project.

Next I made up the Walrus

Most of the card I've used for the walrus is from the fabulous ColorWheel Cardstock Pack 8.5" x 11" - his striped t-shirt is a scrap of digi paper I made a while back.  Stripes are always useful to have at hand and for a seafarer's t-shirt they're perfect!

I added a box hinge behind him before fixing him to the card.  This way he folds flat to fit into an envelope but stands out from the card base

Next I made up the seagul, again using card from the colourwheel collection, this time I inked some of the smaller pueces.  I couldn't resist adding a wire wobbler behind the seagull so he does a rather manic dance when you give him a flick.

Materials

from Spellbinders;

Thin wire to make 'wobbler'

Tiny Home

Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

This is the second of the cards I made using the OXO grid on this week's Daring Cardmakers challenge:

Let's Play...

Whether you call it TicTacToe, Noughts and Crosses or OXO we'd love you to play along and use our game card to craft with!
Just choose any straight line from the grid, it can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal and use those 3 prompts on your projects this week
Create anything you like; cards, tags, postcards or 3D project, and don't forget ot share them with us
For this one I chose to use the bottom horizontal line, though I stuck with the Clean & Simple design theme! So from the grid the details are:
New; New Home card
Heart; tiny heart smoke puffs
Orange; 2 shades of orange card

I chose 2 shades of orange card from the fab new Colourwheel Collection by Spellbinders and added one of the white card rectangles that were left over from the other OXO card I shared last time

I used:

from Spellbinders
Little house

2 shades orange card from Colourwheel collection

Tiny Heart craft punch
Rectangle die by Tonic
Homemade decal sentiment

Let's Play...

 Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

Today I'm sharing the first of 2 cards I've made for this week's Daring Cardmakers challenge:

Let's Play...

Whether you call it TicTacToe, Noughts and Crosses or OXO we'd love you to play along and use our game card to craft with!
Just choose any straight line from the grid, it can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal and use those 3 prompts on your projects this week
Create anything you like; cards, tags, postcards or 3D project, and don't forget ot share them with us

For this card I chose the centre vertical line and used a Clean & Simple design, Flowers for my 'Free Choice' and a heart waz seal

The design seemed to need a frame so I used a couple of rectangluar dies to make one.  I *think* it still qualifies as CAS - but all things are relative aren't they, and for me this is super-CAS!
Okay, the wax seal may not be super simple as its made in 3 layers

I used:

from Spellbinders
from the Out and About Collection
Red and Green card from Colourwheel collection

I picked up the Intertwined circles die in a sale of loose dies
Rectangle dies by Tonic

Heart and flowers wax seal is by Craspire
The sentiment was created on the pc
Tiny red gems for centres of white flowers

Cheers Mate!

 Hello

welcome to my little crafting place!

I'm sharing my card for the Daring Cardmakers today and this one is not what I intended to make!

Masculine Mayhem
Fathers Day is coming...but this week it's not just about dad, we'd like to celebrate all the males in our lives  Let's see cards for the little boys, the big boys and all the other males in your life.

Create anything you like cards, tags, postcards or 3D project, and don't forget ot share them with us

A couple of months ago I made some wax seals using a Spellbinders WSOM club which I thought would be great for sporting themed cards - always handy for masculine cards!  However, when I came to use them I just couldn't find the darned things could I!

So instead I chose another favourite of most menfolk and got outr one of my old favourite Spellbinders die sets to make a wine imspired card

I used:

All dies are from past sets by Spellbinders
 Wine card Blank
Extra white card for inking the die cuts
Gold card
Gold Pen

Don't Scroll Past!

  Hello

a big welcome to my little crafting place!

I've just one more May club project for Spellbinders to share today, and its another wax seal idea.

When I saw the May Wax Seal of the Month seal it reminded me of those really scrolls you see which always feature the seal of whoever was signing it.  OH and I were married by Special License and I'm pretty sure the license document features a seal at the bottom.

So I found a digital image of an unfurling scroll and used it to create this little card.

The scroll section is adhered only as far as the fold, so that when the card is displayed the scroll stands above the rest of the card.

Here's how it looks when flat

Lying down when the card is folded it looks like this

The club kit includes the wax seal and what is probably my favourite of Spellbinders' wax bead mixes.  I made the seal on this card using blue wax for the wording and a mix of the turquoise shades in the bag for the base of the seal.  I highlighted 'proud' with a gold pen

Materials

from Spellbinders;
Blue plus May bead mix wax beads

Grad cap

Navy Blue card blank
digital image for scroll
Gold and turquoise card scraps
gold and blue ribbon
