Bright and Brighter

Hello!

Welcome to my little crafting place! Here's where I share the things I've been making, and sometimes other bits of waffle!
This time my card is another for the Daring Cardmakers
Jolly Crafty Christmas Time 2024

It's the first Friday of the month so we have a picture prompt

December Elemental Inspiration Challenge.
What to make: Anything Goes!
Christmas themed or not
Just choose a minimum of 3 elements to use when you make yourproject.

I made a couple of cards, one using the good old Festive colourway of bright red and gold and the econd you'll need your sunnies for!

Card 1; The Traditional One

Lots of favourite Spellbincers goodis on here. Some still in the store but others are oldies. JOY is a Glimmer sentiment, foiled directly onto the card front.
The little holly corner is foiled with a Betterpress plate from one of this year's collections; the Essential Tag Accessories, from Lisa Horton
There's a mix of dies, mainly frpm the Sealed collection (love them!), but a couple of others found their way in
All in different finished of Gold and Red, so its certainly bright - especially when it catchres the light

Card 2; The Very Bright One

I inked some pieces of card with bright shades of Lime, Hot Pink and Turquoise.
While they were drying I used the Stars Glimmer plate and confetti foil to create the background of multi-coloured stars directly onto a black card blank.
Then I die cut the letters (very old Spellbinders set!) from the inked card and gkued them in place. The stoclings are from
Mantel Decoration  - Timeless Trees Collection by Simon Hurley
if you look closely you'll see each has a different embossed pattern!
I glued them together with a little overlap and their hanging loops roughly together, then usd waxed twine to hang them on the card as I wanted them to move around when the card itself is moved

Floral Cut-Away Card - December's Glimmer of the Month club

 Hello!

Welcome to my little crafting place!

This time its the turn of December's  Glimmer of the Month club to take the starring role! This month theres an absolutely beautiful flowery panel with a shaped edge and a die that cuts it perfectly - along with some of my favourite matte gold foil

Because of the pretty shape, I just had to make a card to show if off, by making a cut-away front feature

I printed out some digital papers, an aqua watercolour pattered piece and a wood effect design in soft creamy beige shades as I thought the Glimmer design would work really nicely with them.

My last posting was a HELLO card using some of the dies from  December's Small Die of the Month club and this card uses even more of them - don't ever think that the 'Small' in this club's name means you don't get many dies!  And there are still a couple I've not used yet!

I used:

December Small Die of the Month club

December Glimmer of the Month club

White card blank

Digital papers printed onto white Bazzill card

Gold and Green Card scraps

Aqua satin ribbon

Well, HELLO! (December Small Die of the Month club )

  Hello!

Welcome to my little crafting place!

The Small Die of the Month club from Spellbinders this Decemberhas a a beautiful 'HELLO' theme, with a fabulous giant 'H' entwined with leaves and smaller 'ELLO' capitals letters as you can see on my first card below

This was such fun to make - especially as it made such a change from all the Christmas stuff which still litters my desk!

I made a DL card from an A4 sheet of burgundy card. then used the remaing piece trimmed down slightly to bring more dimension to the card.  I cut one 'H' from each of gold and green card, and a couple of extras from other shades of green to use as accents

I cut all the leafy bits away from the gold 'H' to just leave theand the basic letter, then matted this onto the green cut-out.  The large letter and the smaller ones were then arranged onto my card.

Using the extra green die cuts I'd made, I added in more trailing leaves, then cut the flowers from card inked with shades of pink, adding a few to the 'O' for balance

I used:

December Small Die of the Month club

DL Burgundy card blank

White card, green and pink inks

Gold Card

What to make: Anything Goes!

My main choices were the pastel colours, the houses and the tree, and I made a couple of cards

Card 1

The dies used on the card above are from Simon Hurley Spellbinders sets.

I inked some pieces of card with pastel shades and used these to cut the various pieces. For a bit of Christmas glitz I added in some gold card for the deer, and a few pieces of glitter card too

Card 2

Again, most of the dies used on the card above are from Simon Hurley Spellbinders sets. However the little houses and the church are from an old die set - I've lost the original packaging, so I don't know who made them

In both cases I decided to mount all the pieces onto dark blue card blanks and I'm really happy at how the pastels look on the deep colour

Burgundy with Gold Bauble

    Hello!

Welcome to my little crafting place! Here's where I share the things I've been making, and sometimes other bits of waffle!
I found a photo of another of the bauble cards I've made that got missed out from my last post.
This one uses different finishes of gold card for the baubles and the card itself is a burgundy colour

As before I hot-foiled the sentiment directly ontop the card blank before adding the extras.  I've found the Spellbinders Glimmer sentiments and those intended for the Betterpress hot-foil really well onto my coloured cards - so much so that I've not had a single poor result (yet!)
The bauble die is from Simon Hurley's Vintage Layered Ornaments set.  The Merry Christmas Glimmer sentiment plate is from October's Glimmer of the Month club. I added gold thread bows and some holly and berries from my box of saved die cuts!

I used:

One Word Prompt: SONG

  Hello!

Welcome to my little crafting place! Here's where I share the things I've been making, and sometimes other bits of waffle!
Today  my card is inspired by this week's One Word Prompt at the Daring Cardmakers
Jolly  Crafty Christmas Time
One Word Prompt.
SONG
What do you think of when you read that word?
What will you make inspired by
SONG
Remember, anything goes -  make Tags, Bags, Cards, Décor, Boxes... whatever  takes your fancy and fits the theme - Christmas themed or not - it's up to you

I made a couple of cards this time, one inspired by a Christmas song the other by the good old 'Happy Birthday' song - but no matter how loudly I sang it no-one came in carrying a cake lit up with candles
While I was making a batch of wax seals using November's Wax Seal of the Month club seal from Spellbinders it was hard NOT to sing the Happy Birthday song, and it made me think why not do several seals and add a printed sentiment for the 'Dear Xxxx' line of the song!
I made the three seals in varying peachy shades, highlighted them in gold and displayed them on a strip of gold card and a length of pretty cotton lace

My second card was inspired by one of those old songs  that still pop up on Christmas collections - actually,. I love them even if they are a bit kitsch - they remind me of being a little 'un!  About the only time my mum played actual records was at Christmas, and the radio would be tuned to Radio 2 and this osrt of stuff would get you in the mood for the festivities!

Oh, the weather outside is frightfulBut the fire is so delightfulAnd since we've no place to goLet it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

Shiny and Sparkly

  Hello!

Welcome to my little crafting place! Here's where I share the things I've been making, and sometimes other bits of waffle!
I've a few cards made on the same theme to share this time.
The card I shared recently for the Daring Cardmakers got me into the mood for making more bauble cards so here are a few more!

These gorgeous bauble dies are from Simon Hurley's Vintage Layered Ornaments set. I've used various colours and finsihes of card; all the lovely shiny, glittery, textured card I love to use at Christmas, and my favourite jewel colours.

I used:

BetterPress plate, but hot-foiled rather than inked

JOY - Glimmer plate by Spellbinders (sorry, this one has been discontinued)
Gold and silver twine, holly leaves and berries from assorted die sets

Christmas SPARKLE

  Hello!

Welcome to my little crafting place! Here's where I share the things I've been making, and sometimes other bits of waffle!
Today  my card is inspired by this week's One Word Prompt at the Daring Cardmakers

SPARKLE
What do you think of when you read that word?
What will you make inspired by SPARKLE
Remember, anything goes -  make Tags, Bags, Cards, Décor, Boxes... whatever  takes your fancy and fits the theme - Christmas themed or not - it's up to you

i don't think I've made any bauble cards for the last couple of Christmasses, but this year I have a new die set to play with and this challenge was just perfect to wallow in sparkle and shine of those beautiful baubles I remember from childhood. So I made this....

These gorgeous dies are from Simon Hurley's Vintage Layered Ornaments and I love them! There are so many possibilities for putting them together, and I think they look amazing when cut in all the lovely shiny, glittery, textured card I love to use at Christmas.
I'm also really 'into' using coloured card this year and a bit of glitz and glimmer really works on them
Here I've used different finishes of silver and turquoise card; there's mirror, glitter, pearlescent and matte card to make each bauble different.
The die set also has dies to make the finials, hanging string and a pretty bow, but as I like to have a bit of added texture  I tied my bows from silver thread
To finish this card I made a foiled sentiment using a Lisa Horton BetterPress set. added some extra loops of silver thread and some punched glitter card stars
