There's a right old tip!
Yes, even more of a mess than usual.
It's my first day back crafting after waving our visitors off yesterday and I have some very difficult cards to make before I do anything else. I've done the decorative bits of the cards and I'm procrastinating now because I have the wording to deal with next.
I thought I'd be brave and pan down to new depths and show what's going on below the desktop.
If you guessed there'd be more "stuff" under there, you'd be right. The 12x12 case is full of larger scraps of Bazzill type card, the plastic crate is full of things that "might come in useful one day", the tin has scraps of silver and gold card/paper in it. The top drawer has the punches I don't use so often, the middle one has loads of pens and markers that I really should sort out, and the bottom drawer has stuff like Friendly Plastic, Paperclay and various moulds. It used to have casters but the drawers were so heavy that it kept buckling and tipping over, so I took them off
One of the reasons there's so much stuff lying around is that it's been difficult to decide what to put on these cards - sympathy cards are never easy, but in this case the colours, style and sentiments I tend to fall back on in making them aren't really suitable. Which is why I keep getting stuff out, then rejecting it and reaching for something else.
The excitement of the imminent birth of a new member of our extended family turned to sadness last week when the little boy was born very, very poorly and died after just a few short days in this world. What can you say in such circumstances?
Well, I must get on and finish them.
I'll be checking out the other WOYWWer's blogs later and will be back with some crafting from last week asap

Words are never enough Kathy on such a tragedy but I am thinking about you having to make these cards my lovely XXXX
er....far too tidy under the desk I'm afraid hahahaha XXX
It's sad Kathy and difficult to know what to say.
As for the mess it's just a typical desk in the midst of being creative :)

{{hugs}} sent to you Kathy.
Your room is a mess this week Kathy and how do you put your legs under the desk to work with all that stuff there? haha :)
Your cards will be lovely as usual and bring a little ray of sunshine to those who receive them. Wipso and I find rainbows uplifting at sad times - just an idea!
These are bad enough cards to make at any time, but it's always worse for a baby. Love to all Kathy xxx
I am still seeing new places where you store flowers! I think you might be a flower-using-record-holder!
Words seem very trite at such times don't they - PSX had a lvely stamp, the message I fall back on alot:
Gentle thoughts during these difficult days
Remember too that a card doesn'thave to have words on the front - just reach out and share the sorrow, believe me, it helps to know that others feel your grief.
I'm really sorry to hear about such sad news Kathy... what can you say... its a time when words are just words... can't imagine what the poor parents are going through... sometimes the simpler the card, the better. Hope that you find the right words and topper for the cards you need to do...
Thoughts are with you and your family...

So good to see that someone else leaves themselves as much space to work in on the desk as I do.

So sorry to hear about the baby ...I am sure the right words will come to you and the cards will be treasured.
Such sad news Kathy ... a very difficult card ... but I just know the thought and care you are putting into it will shine through.
Things that may be useful one day ... I have a lot of those too X
Just dropped by for a little snoop =)
Sympathy cards are without a doubt the hardest to do, especially in such tragic circumstances, I'm sure it will come to you.
I still can't believe how many flower embellishments you have, you're the polar opposite of Julia on that one!
Hugs

I am so sorry about the loss in your family. Just let them know you love them. Your workspace looks quite busy, but actually in an orderly way! Loved seeing all the stash spots and I REALLY like your large altered puzzle piece on your wall.
