Snowdrops

hello
I think someone stole this last week away from me!  I've not done half the things I wanted to - there are hardly any ticks on my to-do list.
I set out to make my card for the Daring Cardmakers yesterday and found it a real struggle.  If the first idea had worked out I would definitely have got some of those things ticked off, but I had a few false starts and I messed a few things up, so in the end it was a case of 'back to the drawing board', and make something simple and straightforward

It's Svenja here and I just can't wait for spring to come. Sunshine and fresh green are desperately needed to cheer me up after a long winter. So I'm asking you all to get your stencils out and use them with some fresh green.

I've never had a lot of luck persuading snowdrops to establish themselves in my garden - it doesn't help that we have loads of squirrels who just love to dig them up!  But at last we seem to be getting a few each year and hopefully they will increase as time goes on.  Theo is nothing quite as cheering as the Winter drags on as the sight of snowdrops with their promise of Spring.

Info:
I started by making up the die cut snowdrops using a Joanna Sheen die, white Bazzill Bling card, two shades of green, some lemon and pink inks
I cut an 'all over' sticky note mask using a Nesties die to mask the place where the snowdrops would be going, then stencilled using my favourite "spinning tops" stencil (Crafters Workshop) and several different shades of green ink,
The die cut snowdrops were them adhered, using foam pads for some extra dimension.
Finally I added some scattered pastel pearls.
I was going to add some ribbon, but no matter where I tried it, it looked wrong!
I'll probably add some sort of sentiment under the flowers before I send this one.  It does need something extra
We'd love to see your Stencilled Spring Green themed cards this week, it's easy to join in - just visit the Daring Cardmakers blog and leave your link.

  8. And that was me thinking I set an easy challenge... duh! Anyone I really do like what you've made of it - very fresh and springy indeed. That stencil is great, isn't it? I've seen you use it and just had to have it for myself. (I used it on my "take a break"-tags, did you see?)
