Coffee Break

Hi there

How are you feeling this bright and sunny Friday?
I know lots of people are still suffering with the coughs and colds that just linger on at this time of the year.  What we all need is a nice holiday in the sun - so where shall we go? hahaha

Failing that there's always a mini-break in the shape of a mid-morning cuppa, and maybe if you're lucky a chocolate biscuit to go with it
..... and that sums up En's challenge this week over at The Daring Cardmakers!
Hi, it's Enfys here this week, my turn to set the challenge, I chose
    Take a Break
Use what ever gets you going again in the mid morning slump, when breakfast seems hours ago, and it's too early for lunch.
Is it coffee? A refreshing cup of tea? A sneaky doughnut?
For me, it has to be coffee, I seem to need gallons of the stuff in the morning, just to wake me up! Mind you, if there was a doughnut shop within walking distance, they would feature in a big way as well!

Make mine a coffee please, En....., since you're offering  😉
I rarely say 'no' to a coffee, though just occasionally I might swap my mid-morning coffee for a steaming hot mug of chocolate instead!
If OH is on a work from home day there might be a biscuit too - we are still working our way through the Christmas biscuits, would you believe?

Anyway, for my card this week I couldn't resist digging out this fab digi coffee cup from Funky Hand. I teamed it with some digital papers, not from Funky Hand, but from KHDigi via Etsy.  This paper set is actually a Christmas set, but I do love the colours and most of the designs are not out-and-out Christmassy, and are too lovely to leave unused for months.  These are from sets called 'Loving Christmas' and 'Loving Christmas Again'.

For this card I did a lot of work on the pc, resizing the image and the papers I wanted to use for the cup so that I could print the image and paper in one print run, using three of the designs and printing onto white Bazzill card.
Next I cut out the parts I needed from each design and layered them up with some faux chipboard between the layers.

The Coffee Time sentiment was also created mainly on the pc, using Paint Shop Pro to create the circles and writing.  The only extra layer is the scalloped circle.

It's ages since I made an easel card, but having made the coffee cup I needed to think how to use it - because as usual I didn't do any planning first!
An easel card meant I could use the coffee cup in an 'off the page' sort of way, and I could also have it standing out by using a box hinge to fix it to the card.

All the papers come from the same sets.  The scalloped circle and the two different kinds of hearts are die cuts,

Info:
Digital papers by KHDigi from 'Loving Christmas' and
'Loving Christmas Again' downloads
Digital Image Coffee Cup by Funky Hand (sorry, no longer trading)
Hearts on cup are from a Nested set by Tonic
Tall heart from Spellbinders - I cut it twice and trimmed one down slightly
Scalloped circle is from a Nesties set also Spellbinders

So what's your mid-morning tipple?
