Look East

Over on The Daring Cardmakers we've been looking to the Far East for our inspiration this week. However Sneaky Sue added an extra challenge into the mix by banning the use of red and gold on our cards. Hmmm, now that's a little bit mean isn't it? Especially as I have a few bits of Oriental goodies that the lovely Pearl in Singapore sent to me a while back - but they are on the "banned" list so I had to look elsewhere. Then I remembered that I had the DCWV Far East paper pad lurking on the shelves - I don't use it often, but I do love the misty shades and the fabulous textures of these papers. I've used four of the papers on this card, plus some lovely misty pink pearlescent card from PDA. I did find among the things Pearl sent this little silver fan which I thought would work quite well with the pinks and blues, I found this soft pink ribbon on a clothing tag sticking out of the "might be useful" box on my desk. I really wanted to use some matching pink metallic brads but I only had some that were too bright, so went instead for these blue ones. There are some lovely cards on the DCM blog this week, so please pop over there and see what the team have been making for Sue's fab dare.

  4. Sorry I put a spanner in the works and stopped you from using all your oriental goodies Kathy.
Mind you, even without the use of them you’ve managed to create a truly stunning creation.
