Hello
welcome to my little crafting place!
This time I've managed to double up again and made my card for the Daring Cardmakers' challenge using goodies from Spellbinders' May Glimmer of the Month - well, when they are sitting on your desk already it would be rude not to, wouldn't it? Same goes for using the fabulous Scribbled Letter Embossing Folder, at the moment its just there at my fingertips!
I love ink cubes and those cute little teardrop shaped ink pads. I hardly ever use full size inkpads as I don't 'do' that stamping and colouring kind of cardmaking. I prefer to have lots of little cubes to make backgrounds and add colour to card for die cutting etc. As of my existing pads were getting a bit sad I've treated myself to a load of my favourite Versa ink cubes and as the box was handy - do you detect a theme here? - I went through and picked out some of the green ones to make a swooshy background for this card
Emerald
The traditional birthstone for May is the emerald. Known for their rich green hue, emeralds are often associated with renewal and happiness.
We'd like you to use 'Emerald' as your crafting inspiration this week.
Create anything you like cards, tags, postcards or 3D project, and don't forget ot share them with us
After I'd made the green inky background I cut a square from the cetnre and embossed it with the Scribbled Letter Embossing folder. I cut a few more plain square shapes and glued them together before adhering them to the embossed square. I added some gold card to my card blank to conceal any white that might show and positioned the frame over it, then glued the embossed panel into the hole I made green ink stripes on scrap card and lined up the pencils Glimmer plate and Satin Pewter foil for foiling. I also made a second sheet just on white card. On the white pencils I added brown and pink ink for the eraser and wood sections.
I cut these and the green ones out with scissors rather than the die you get in the kit and matted the coloured section of the pencuils over the bases.
The sentiment is made using elements from those in the Glimmer club set
I used:
Satin Pewter foil (in kit)
White card Blank
Extra white card for inking (background, flowers, pencils)
Gold card
Lots of ink pads
