For the BIG Ones!

I hope you are keeping well and staying safe.  OH and I try to stay a safe distance from anyone else (well. you don't know where they've been, or whether they are being as careful as you are, do you?).  If its a breezy day we are extra careful because those germs can travel further on days like that! 
 We keep to a strict regimen of cleaning, or 'quarantining' everything that comes into the house and I don't think we'll be lowering our guard any time soon.  Better paranoid and safe, I reckon
One of the upsides is that I don't feel the need to make endless cups of tea for the various workmen who have been busy building our garage - is that bad of me? 😂😂😂


I was really late blogging my  Daring Cardmakers project last week, so this week I'm trying to at least blog it on the right day, at least!

Anyway, here's Miri's challenge for this week:

BIG celebrations

Please make a card for one of those occasions that are usually enjoyed only once in a lifetime: a wedding, a special birthday (18th, 30th, etc.), a holy communion, finally reaching retirement, passing an exam/driving test, etc.

I know that many of these great celebrations have or had to be cancelled this year or celebrated quite differently from the original plan. But maybe in this case it’s even more important to send a card and tell someone that you’re thinking of them … from far away.

I was asked to make a card for a lady who'll be celebrating a very special birthday soon, and this challenge seemed the ideal opportunity to get on with it and decided to make an Eclipse card similar in design to one I made earlier in the year.

 The lovely peony digital papers are a download from Alphabet Store via Etsy 
I used matching shades of pink to create a mottled pattern to use for making the flower and printed that off.  I did the same to make enough of a green piece for the leaves, too. 

The eclipse letters were cut using an Altenew alphabet set.  The lower layers are cut in a toning pink card.  
For the large peony flower and leaves I used a Spellbinders set which has a series of petals in different sizes, making it easy to build the flower.
 The two upper, curved layers were also cut with a die from a Spellbinders set.To finish I added matching satin ribbon across the top with a double bow, the PC generated sentiment and a few scattered pink pearls
