It's Friday again and this week it's our lovely Asia's very first time to set the challenge for The Daring Cardmakaers
Recently Andrea Gourley (one of our recent Guest Designers) and her mum Mary set up a brand new on-line shop and offered a fabulous ribbon-filled prize for us to give away - we thought it would be great to celebrate the new shop with Asia's first dare
So this week we've got this glorious little bundle of loveliness to give away to one lucky darer, courtesy of The Ribbon Girl. Swooooooon
Here's what Asia says:
"And since we're doing a give away, I would like you to give something back. Remember last year Sue's Post Pals dare? It's a great cause and there are still many kids waiting for cards, so I would like you to create a "Thinking of you" card and send it to one (or all!) the children from this website. Let yourself be inspired by these kids, they all write about colours that they like and their favourite characters. Remember not to use glitter or things that could come off the card easily. If you're not from the UK, you may prefer to send this card to someone you know that may need a little support."
Please, please don't miss out on your chance to win by not taking note of the rules - there are only three things to remember and they are clearly stated on the DCM BLOG, but you would be amazed how many people don't qualify for our prize draws, because they haven't read the instructions properly! So if you do take time to comply then you've probably got a better chance of winning that you might otherwise think! hehe
Sadly, I can't enter for the draw, boohoohoo
I decided that making a card for one of the Post Pals children was the perfect excuse to do another of these great pop-up cards.

I used a Robo template I altered from a free colouring page ages ago to make the bunny and some of the flowers.
I found a pink fuzzy brad to use for his nose which I thought was cute!
You need to keep the pop-out card in the middle flat as it goes through a slot in the card, so I just used a paper border and Robo-ed the big "hello" letters, the other letters are rub-ons
I've made sure that the wire spirals are very securely fixed inside the flowers and between the layers on the front of the card, The brad prongs are well concealed between the layers of the bunny's head and that all add-on bits are really well secured with the strongest of glues. I will also add a layer of Glossy Accents over the Stickles before I send this - I didn't have time to do it yesterday!
Post Pals is such a good cause - a way to brighten up the days of some very sick children and their families, so please check out the Post Pals website and send a card to one of the children you'll find listed there. You wouldn't think just sending a card would make much difference, but it really does.
You can see the cards the "Thinking of You" cards the DT have made this week, plus all the info about our fab prize by clicking HERE, I really hope you'll help us support this wonderful scheme.
I'm heading back to a pile of Black and White stripy paper now - my NUFC supporting nephew's 18th birthday card is actually taking shape....at last!
