Back with my What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday photo after missing last week's. I do love wandering around as many of the blogs linked to Julia's Stamping Ground (see HERE for all the info) as I can get to - but I know I'll never manage to visit them all now as there are so many lovely crafters joining in. So I've decided that I'll try to pop in to all the links, but I'm really sorry if I don't leave a comment everywhere I visit every week.
I love blogging and I love visiting blogs too, it's such an inspiring thing to do. Seeing great ideas, wonderful gadgets and new techniques makes it a really valuable and educational way to spend a little while. Thanks to everyone who open up their craft space and shares them with us.
My desk, is as usual a bit of a tip - it's as I left it yesterday after and card-making session.
What do you do with the cards and other projects you're not keen on after you've either finished or got halfway through? That browny one in the middle of my desk is a reject and I'm not sure whether it can be salvaged. I got this far with it a couple of months back and have just found it at the bottom of a pile of stuff while I was looking for something else.
Much of what's on my desk this time has just been tarted up or finished off. I need to get some of them in the post today (mustn't forget...). Once I've cleared some space I'll be moving on to the next thing on my to-do list; pages for a fat book which actually should be finished by now (don't tell anyone, will you? hehe)
I've a new sketch ready to share on the Sketch File Blog, and a card I've made using it. I'll update that one just as soon as I've finished here, and tomorrow I'll add all the info about the card I made on this blog - oh my, it's all go....yeah yeah yeah
Yesterday the June challenge went up on Get Funky! which is the challenge blog for the Funky Hand shop. Allison set us the theme this time and is asking for projects using a Pink, Cream and Brown colour combo. Funky Hand offer a £20 prize every month for one lucky winner so it's definitely worth taking a look. You do need to include at least one Funky Hand product to qualify for entry, but as Anice's CDs and downloads are so lovely (and easy to use) the only hard bit is choosing which to go for.
I made this "desk caddy" for my Pink, Cream and Brown project. Actually I haven't a clue what to use it for (suggestions - clean ones, of course are welcome!) - filling it with chocolates is my favourite so far.....
I used papers from the Dreams Come True CD.
I made the basic caddy from brown Bazzill and used a 9 x9" square
All the flowers are hand made from scraps of the papers. I learned how to make the paper roses from Linda's Blog - I love doing them, actually I don't seem able to stop making them! These four are tiny - the original 6 petalled flower shape is just 2.5 cms across.
The coiled flowers are another of my fave makes - these are tiny too. I guess I started with rough circles of about 2cms max for these.
The idea came from Hazel who found the instructions for this caddy and shared them with us when we did a mini crop over on Bubbly Funk. So thanks Hazel for a great project.
I think it's time I stopped "scribbling" now and got down to those fat book pages, don't you?
Later I can reward myself with a little WOYWW wandering!
Thanks for visiting, I hope you like what you see.

ReplyDeleteI am not a card maker, but when I have a project I don't care for, I cut it up, salvage what I can, and use it in my altered art. I know not everyone works in collage, but that's how I salvage my rejects. Happy WOYWW.
