Tracie set the DCM challenge this week and wants us to do wield the scissors and do some hand-cutting on our cards. I've been busy this week and really didn't think I would get a card done - I always feel guilty when that happens though - but when I checked this morning and saw that everyone else must be playing catch-up too I decided to see if I could come up with something quick to add to the blog.
I know I should try to get my dare card done as soon as we hear the new dare, but I do like to mull ideas over for a while first....I suppose I could always do another card later in the week if I came up with a better plan though. Oh dear! I seem to be answering my own excuses and that can't be right can it?
Anyway, here's my 30 minute card for today
I bought these double-sided Creative Imaginations papers months ago - I think they might be last year's range actually but I absolutely love them, the colours are so unusual and vintagey and modern at the same time.
The baubles are cut from one of the papers, stuck on the cereal packet !chipboard" and cut out. edges inked and Kryloned.
The wavy "ribbon" is handcut from another of the papers - that one actually has trees on it, but cut this way makes a really pretty fake ribbon.
The "celebrate" was cut on the robo - no way could I hand cut that, but I stuck that on cream card and did hand cut around to make a border for it.
I'm quite pleased with this - I don't think it's bad for such a quick card, and I do like it when something comes together so easily!
There are some fab examples of hand-cutting on the DCM blog, so don't forget to check it out (and hopefully more to come as time goes on!) - and of course we'd love to see your own adventures in scissor-weilding!
Just to add another little crafty item to today's blog entry , here's a little detail from a Circle Journal LO I've just finished
the colours make that such a fun and funky christmas card Kathy. And I hope we'll be able to see more of that CJ page eventually as it looks fab.
