Gimme Some Lovin'

This week the DCM's Little Extra midweek challenge is do make a Love themed card.
There's a lot of wedding talk around on the design team with two weddings coming up soon. So inspired by this we'd like you to put some LOVE into your cards this week. Wedding, Anniversary, Engagement or simply to say "I love You" - there are lots of opportunities to get lovey-dovey and slushy so get out all the romantic stash out and show us what you can do.

Oh happy coincidence! I got two birds with one stone as this card was a commissio for a couple who are having a Blessing in Church back in England soon - following their wedding which took place recently in Venice (all right for some, eh). Predictably when a rush order for something romantic comes in I fell back on my old faithful Love vellum and gorgeous gold Stardream card from pda. Just for a bit of excitement I did battle with the Craft Robo and cut the letters (courtesy of a kind UKS member) from a dark red card which I then mounted on gold mirror card. a personalised greeting, some dark red ribbon and tiny red and gold heart-shaped brads complete the card.
If you've got a few spare minutes and need something crafty to keep yourself occupied, why not have a go at this challenge? There are some fab examples of Love themed cards on the DCM blog, and hopefully there'll soon be lots of messages left there to direct us to many more gorgeous romantic lovey-dovey cards.

Next up I've got my little nephew Dan's birthday coming up at the end of the week and I really wanted to use Joanne's wonderful little Craft Robo Aliens to make this card. I've made (with a lot of help from hubby) these rockets, flying saucers and ringed planets with my Craft Robo and I'm quite chuffed at how they've turned out.
I also cut the speech bubble with the robo-thing. I also spilt the whole pack of those teeny tiny googly eyes all over the desk (and floor) - obviously it had to be the tiniest of the three different sizes I used on the card hmmmm.

And lastly, a little sneak peek at a card I've just sent off for another of the "end of the week" birthdays. I know I should wait, but I couldn't resist adding just a glimpse of it.

  1. They all look great Kathy! The ringed planets worked out really well and I love the way the aliens are peeing round the letters on the space card - sure Dan will love it.

Maybe you could be Rosie's expert for the letter in a box thing? ;o)
